سؤال وجواب

Listen to the news in English and Arabic

استمع الى الكلمات في البرنامج ومرن نفسك على استخدامها في الفقرة ادناه

Welcome to BBC Xtra English. Today Khalid and Doug answer your questions on the English language.

Mohammed has written to us from Egypt.

He wants to know the difference between want to and wanna.

Wanna is what we hear when we say want to very fast.

You shouldn't use wanna in written English.

Walid writes to us from Egypt as well.

He likes this expression - It is not my cup of tea.

Example: Dance music is not my cup of tea.

It means that you don't like it.

These three people have the same question:

Mury writes from Yemen. Dana writes from Jordan and Osma writes from India.

"How can I improve my English?"

In the programme you will hear advice from language learners in London.

One idea is to listen to the news on the radio.

Try to understand the BBC news in English. Then listen to the news in Arabic.

Listen to music.
